Novel Mechanism-Based Interventions for Mental Disorders Program

This program supports the development of novel interventions targeting the neural mechanisms or processes underlying childhood-onset mental disorders. Of particular interest are interventions targeting specific cognitive, affective, or motor/sensorimotor processes that are often shared across disorders (e.g., deficits in cognitive control, affect regulation, tics and other repetitive behaviors). The program supports manual development, safety/feasibility studies, and pilot studies. Of particular interest are novel behavioral, cognitive, and non-pharmacological neuroscience-based interventions. Also of interest are investigations into the mechanism of action of efficacious interventions, as well as mechanisms of adverse side effects.
