Strengthen the public health impact of NIMH-supported research
Purpose
NIMH invites grant applications from institutions and organizations that propose research to fulfill Objective 4 of the NIMH Strategic Plan: Strengthen the Public Health Impact of NIMH-Supported Research
The Institute encourages projects that have the greatest potential to 1) expand the use of research-based, cost-effective mental health care in diverse practice settings for all individuals and populations across the lifespan; 2) develop new knowledge that can facilitate the delivery of optimal care in all service systems; and 3) close the gap between the discovery and development of cost-effective mental health services and their widespread use.
Research priority areas are identified within Strategy 4.1:
The research topics are not intended to be exhaustive. Prior to submitting an application, investigators are encouraged to contact NIMH program staff to discuss proposed aims and relevance to this objective. Please reference the relevant strategic objective and research priority in the project summary section of your application. Investigators are also encouraged to take advantage of existing NIMH and NIH resources where appropriate.
