Meeting Summary
Rockville, Maryland

On March 26, 2007, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) co-sponsored a meeting entitled “Dissemination and Implementation Research Workshop: Harnessing Science to Maximize Health.” The one-day technical assistance meeting provided the opportunity for researchers to discuss future submissions to the Trans-NIH Dissemination and Implementation Research Program Announcements (PAR-06-520, PAR-06-521, PAR-07-086), entitled “Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health.”

The purpose of the meeting was to offer prospective applicants the opportunity to learn about the purpose of Dissemination and Implementation Research, hear from successful NIH grantees working in this research area, discuss issues related to grantwriting, submission, and review, and get targeted feedback from NIH program staff about submitted concept papers.
