Analyzing and Using RDoC Data in Your Research

Date

May 10, 2016

Location

Webinar

On May 10, 2016 the NIMH Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) Unit hosted a webinar on the utilization and analysis of RDoC data in research.  The purpose of the webinar was to provide diverse perspectives on conducting RDoC studies, and to demonstrate that a variety of methods can be used for RDoC studies when the principles of RDoC are incorporated into research design and analysis plan.

The webinar featured 3 NIMH-funded investigators whose research illustrates RDoC principles. Dr. Lisa McTeague discussed her psychophysiological studies focused on understanding dimensions that cut across multiple anxiety disorders. Dr. Aristotle Voineskos elaborated on his brain imaging work and methodology aimed at understanding social processing deficits in individuals with psychosis spectrum disorders. Dr. Meredith Wallace presented on statistical methods she developed to study naturally occurring clusters of individuals with heterogeneous disorders who show similar patterns of biobehavioral responses. These presentations demonstrated multiple methodological approaches and statistical techniques that effectively integrate RDoC principles in research.

A recording of the webinar will be made available on the NIMH RDoC website in the near future.
