Position Overview

The NIMH seeks a motivated, experienced Computer Systems Analyst to serve in the Electronics Communications Branch (ECB), Office of Science Policy, Planning, and Communications (OSPPC). The ECB oversees the design and management of NIMH internet and intranet websites; ensures timely and accurate information is posted on the NIMH websites; ensures all NIMH information is accessible to individuals with disabilities; and, plans and conducts website evaluations and usability studies to improve the user experience. The incumbent will be responsible for collaborating with OSPPC leadership, technical staff, content creators, and other stakeholders to enhance usability, accessibility, and performance of NIMH’s digital communications.

Position Duties

The incumbent will be responsible for triaging and completing incoming requests for updates to the NIMH internet, intranet, and OSPPC SharePoint sites. They will assist NIMH researchers and other institute staff to update the NIMH internet and intranet websites using NIMH digital publishing platforms (Drupal for internet and SharePoint for intranet). Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to: post scientific documents and other complex materials on the NIMH website in a timely manner and in accordance with Section 508 requirements; code HTML; write and modify JavaScript and SASS/CSS to support website functionality; generate website analytics reports; and, ensure integrity and availability of NIMH web pages.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, or related discipline with three (3) years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in unrelated field and five (5) years of related experience. Knowledge of image editing and optimization, site performance measurement and optimization, Google Analytics, basic web design, mobile and desktop web browsers, and general knowledge of the web development cycle. Ability to code HTML. Experience using Drupal 8/9 strongly preferred. Knowledge of Section 508 standards for digital materials. Ability to edit images with Adobe Photoshop. Demonstrated ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. Ability to solve problems as they arise and show strong attention to detail. Strong communications skills, both oral and written. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
