Program Overview

The NIMH Office of Management (OM) provides strategic leadership, direction, oversight, and consultation on the business and management operations in support of the Institute’s scientific mission. This position is located within the Executive Office (EO) in the OM.

NIMH’s OM Executive Office oversees trans-OM operations and coordination and supports the Deputy Director for Management (DDM) and IC Executive Officer. The Executive Office provides executive leadership and strategic direction for OM’s seven branches and leads internal communications, business process improvement, organizational strategy, and implementation of trans-NIH initiatives for NIMH. The office oversees administrative management, financial management, acquisitions, ethics, information technology, and workforce functions.

Position Duties

The candidate will develop, maintain, and update documentation, databases, and spreadsheets for administrative operations including managing operations, communication document library, and documentation required to support executive meetings.

The incumbent will track and manage activities through to delivery – coordinating with various stakeholders for review, input, and necessary action. Position responsibilities include preparing reports, presentations, and content using PowerPoint and other design tools for meetings and executive presentations.

The candidate is responsible for conducting research and analysis regarding management funding and presenting findings to leadership. In addition, the candidate will review policy and regulation that governs activities performed by the office of management and support change management, process improvement, communications planning, implementation of trans-NIH policy/process, and developing and tracking management timelines.

The incumbent will work with the DDM and EO Staff on special projects and support overall project management including managing documents, meetings, presentations, and stakeholders. In addition, the candidate will manage executive scheduling and signature requirements.

The candidate will analyze the performance of management functions and perform analytics that will help leadership optimize the effectiveness of administrative processes and resources at the NIMH.

Qualifications

Candidates should be well organized, proactive, detail-oriented, efficient, good communicators, multitaskers, and should have the ability to manage competing deadlines.

All levels of experience will be considered at the GS-9/11/12 levels.
