Program Overview

The NIMH Office of Management (OM) provides strategic leadership, direction, oversight and consultation on the business and management operations in support of the Institute’s scientific mission. This position is located within the Extramural Workforce Section in the Workforce Management Branch (WMB). Candidates will serve as a Management Analyst (Workforce Specialist) responsible for planning, analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of the operating programs.

Position Duties

This position requires a high degree of qualitative and quantitative analytical skills in analyzing, evaluating, and improving the efficiency of internal administrative operations. Applicants will manage a large portfolio and provide guidance with coordinating FTE and contractor selections, non-competitive appointments, preparing recruitment/selection packages and will serve as an integral member of the Section.


This position requires strong oral and written communication skills. Familiarity with federal HR policies and practices is required as well as excellent customer service, analytical, organizational and time management skills. Extramural Title 42 expertise is preferred. BA/BS degree is recommended.

The Management Analyst (Workforce Specialist) will be appointed at a salary commensurate with their qualifications and experience.
