Teen Depression: What Parents Need to Know

On April 19, 2018, the NIMH Intramural Research Program hosted a workshop on teen depression. NIMH IRP scientist-clinician Kathryn DeLonga, Psy.D., presented a brain-based understanding of depression. Dr. DeLonga discussed the prevalence of major depressive disorder, identifying depression in teenagers, elements of recovery and strategies for treatment, and strategies parents can use to help their teenagers.
