James Gooding is a Post-Baccalaureate fellow in the Section on Behavioral Neuroscience at the National Institute of Mental Health. He completed a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering at Michigan Technological University in 2018. At the NIH he is working with Dr. Gurueswar Nagarajan to explore the neural connections between the septum and the hippocampus and their role in executive functions using rat models as well as the structure and function of the hippocampus and its involvement in cognitive function using marmoset models. In his free time James enjoys attending concerts, alpine skiing, and reading.
