The NIMH Intramural Fellowship Training Program, located in the Office of the Scientific Director (SD), is headed by Janet Clark, PhD, Director for Fellowship Training.

Prior to coming to the NIMH, Dr. Clark served as Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology, Director of the Pharmacology and Physiology Graduate Program and Co-Director of the Drug Discovery and Development Program at Drexel University College of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Clark was a PRAT postdoctoral fellow at NIMH prior to joining pharma. Dr. Clark is a past member of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Professional Development Committee and more recently was invited to serve on the SfN Neuroscience Training Committee. She is currently Chair of the APSET Mentoring and Career Development Committee and an active mentor in the SfN Neuroscience Scholars Program as well as Co-leader of the ASPET Mentoring Network. Most recently, Dr. Clark was voted into membership of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.

As member of the NIMH IRP leadership team, Dr. Clark is charged with the development and oversight of the IRP’s integrated multidisciplinary training program and with providing support for all training-related activities.

Sandy Gomez, Program Assistant

Sandy Gomez

Sandy came to the Office of Fellowship training in August of 2008 and returned in March of 2014. Sandy brings six years of NIH experience and a major in psychology. Sandy loves the diverse group of personalities that make up the National Institute of Mental Health, and enjoys coming in to work to help those personalities to shine. She provides a broad range of administrative and resource support for the institute, fellows and various programs held by the office.

Aneka Reid, Program Assistant

Aneka came to the Office of Fellowship Training in December of 2011. Prior to coming to the NIMH, she attended the University of Maryland-College Park, where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biochemistry. Aneka has a fondness for the science field but also has an interest in science administration, which was her primary reason for joining the NIMH Intramural Program. She provides a broad range of services to the office which include coordination of career and professional development workshops, contracts acquisition and resource support for the Intramural Research Program (IRP). In 2015, she received a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Mount Saint Mary’s University.
