The NIMH Intramural Fellowship Training Program, located in the Office of the Scientific Director (SD), is headed by Janet Clark, PhD, Director for Fellowship Training.

Prior to coming to the NIMH, Dr. Clark served as Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology, Director of the Pharmacology and Physiology Graduate Program and Co-Director of the Drug Discovery and Development Program at Drexel University College of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Clark was a PRAT postdoctoral fellow at NIMH prior to joining pharma. Dr. Clark is a past member of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Professional Development Committee and more recently was invited to serve on the SfN Neuroscience Training Committee. She is currently Chair of the APSET Mentoring and Career Development Committee and an active mentor in the SfN Neuroscience Scholars Program as well as Co-leader of the ASPET Mentoring Network. Most recently, Dr. Clark was voted into membership of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.

As member of the NIMH IRP leadership team, Dr. Clark is charged with the development and oversight of the IRP’s integrated multidisciplinary training program and with providing support for all training-related activities.

Alycia K. Boutté, PhD, MPH, Training Program Coordinator
Alycia K. Boutté, PhD, MPH 
Training Program Coordinator

Dr. Boutté came to the Office of Fellowship Training in May 2021. Prior to coming to the NIMH, she completed a post-doctoral fellowship in applied health communication at the National Cancer Institute in the Behavioral Research Program. Passionate about increasing the diversity of the scientific workforce, Dr. Boutté provides a variety of administrative, programmatic, and coordination services to support the professional and career development of NIMH trainees.

Dr. Boutté completed her PhD in health promotion, education, & behavior from the University of South Carolina. She received her MPH in health promotion/behavioral science from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Austin Regional Campus, and BS in psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana. Her research focused on the intersection of mental health, neighborhood food access, and diet quality in racially diverse pregnant women.

Aneka Reid, Program Assistant

Aneka came to the Office of Fellowship Training in December of 2011. Prior to coming to the NIMH, she attended the University of Maryland-College Park, where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biochemistry. Aneka has a fondness for the science field but also has an interest in science administration, which was her primary reason for joining the NIMH Intramural Program. She provides a broad range of services to the office which include coordination of career and professional development workshops, contracts acquisition and resource support for the Intramural Research Program (IRP). In 2015, she received a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Mount Saint Mary’s University.

Program Coordinator

Mary came to the Office of Fellowship Training in November 2023. Prior to NIMH, Mary worked as an Admin Tech with the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases/Administrative Services Branch for 1 year, and 11 years with National Human Genome Research Institute/NIH Intramural Sequencing Center prior to that. Mary has been here at the NIH for 12.5 years. All of her experience is in the administrative/management field. She loves working at the NIH and finds it very fulfilling supporting the mission. She enjoys being surrounded by brilliance, excellence, and determination and is very proud to be part of the Office of Fellowship Training Team.
