Global Mental Health Implementation Research Program

Overview

The Center for Global Mental Health Research (CGMHR) recognizes the critical role of implementation research in advancing scientific knowledge for improving the delivery of evidence-based interventions to improve mental health outcomes. Implementation research bridges scientific discovery and real-world practice ensuring that evidence-based interventions are effectively translated to affordable, scalable, and sustainable solutions for various contexts.

The Global Mental Health Implementation Research Program supports rigorous research to improve the utilization and scalability of evidence-based interventions in real-world settings generating transferable knowledge to resource-constrained settings in the United States.

Research of interest includes, but not limited to:

  • Developing innovative tools and strategies to enhance integrative mental health services, improve quality of care, and optimize value.
  • Adapting evidence-based mental health interventions across different health systems, communities, and care settings.
  • Leveraging novel technologies and adaptive strategies to tailor mental health interventions to population-specific needs while maintaining fidelity and sustainability.
  • Expanding access to mental health interventions to reach vulnerable populations including children and young adults to improve prevention, early intervention, and treatment of mental disorders.
