Date

October 11–14, 2017

Location

Pollenzo, Italy

Sponsor(s): NIMH Division of AIDS Research

The NIMH Division of AIDS Research sponsored a session on “Approach to Consortium Studies of CNS HIV Escape” that was held in conjunction with the Seventh International Meeting on HIV infection in the CNS .

The NIMH session discussed laboratory/clinical definitions of CSF escape, practical issues for consortium studies and clinical and laboratory implications for integrating CSF studies into HIV persistence and eradication studies. To facilitate collaborative research consensus regarding the key definition of CSF escape was reached and these conclusions will be published in the near future. The parent meeting included HIV researchers involved in HIV cure research focused on the brain.
