Brain Somatic Mosaicism Network Investigators’ Workshop
The NIMH Division of Neuroscience and Basic Behavioral Science held the annual Brain Somatic Mosaicism Network (BSMN) investigators’ workshop. Researchers presented updates on their research, discussed data coordination and sharing, publication policies, and future milestones for the network. The BSMN came together in fall of 2015 to examine the role of somatic mosaicism in mental illnesses. The network consists of 12 research sites, and investigators explore multiple types of somatic mutations at single cell and cell-population levels. This research is intended to inform understanding of the role of somatic mutations in the development of mental illnesses.
