Lu received his B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and Ph.D. in Physiology from East China Normal University, where he studied hippocampal oscillatory activities under the mentorship of Dr. Longnian Lin. He completed postdoctoral training at Sorbonne University with Dr. Laure Rondi-Reig, Fudan University with Dr. Jianfeng Feng, and Georgia Institute of Technology with Dr. Annabelle Singer, investigating neural mechanism under navigation, aging and Alzheimer's disease. In fall 2023, Lu joined the National Institute of Mental Health as a Scientist in the Section on Functional Neural Circuits led by Dr. Soohyun Lee. His research focuses on developing integrated experimental and computational pipelines to study functional cortical circuits and their development, combining holographic two-photon imaging and stimulation with computational methods.
