Siani Barbosa, B.S.
Siani received her B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with a minor in Neuroscience, from Pennsylvania State University. She conducted research in two neuropsychology labs, studying how addiction and childhood obesity impact cognition, sleep, and behavior. She then joined NIH as a postbaccalaureate fellow at NIDCD under Dr. Nyall London, where she studied neural pathway disruptions caused by a rare sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma in mouse models. In Fall 2022, Siani began her Ph.D. in Neuropsychology at Howard University, advised by Dr. Alfonso Campbell. She currently works in Dr. Lee’s lab at NIMH as a pre-doctoral fellow, under the guidance of Dr. Lee (NIMH), and co-mentored by Drs. Campbell and Pritchett (Howard University). Siani is interested in how neurodevelopmental high-risk genes influence cerebellar circuits and cerebellum-dependent learning.
