The NIMH, Intramural Fellowship Training Program, located in the Office of the Scientific Director (SD), is headed by Janet Clark, PhD, Director for Fellowship Training.
Prior to coming to the NIMH, Dr. Clark served as Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology, Director of the Pharmacology and Physiology Graduate Program and Co-Director of the Drug Discovery and Development Program at Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. In addition, Dr. Clark has ten years of research experience at a major pharmaceutical company and prior to that did her postdoctoral training at the NIMH. Most recently Dr. Clark has been invited to serve as a member of the Society for Neuroscience Professional Development Committee and she has organized and chaired Career and Professional Development Workshops at the Experimental Biology Annual Meeting for the Pharmacology Education Division of ASPET. As a senior administrator, Dr. Clark is charged with the development and oversight of the IRP's integrated multidisciplinary training program and with providing support and resources for all training-related activities.

Sandy Gomez, Program Assistant

Sandy came to the Office of Fellowship training in August of 2008 and returned in March of 2014. Sandy brings six years of NIH experience and a major in psychology. Sandy loves the diverse group of personalities that make up the National Institute of Mental Health, and enjoys coming in to work to help those personalities to shine. She provides a broad range of administrative and resource support for the institute, fellows and various programs held by the office.

Meera came to the Office of Fellowship Training in January of 2017. Prior to joining the team at NIMH, she earned her Master of Public Health degree at George Washington University. Meera’s passionate about helping others and her interests include public health and education. Meera leads various recruitment and outreach initiatives for OFT and provides a broad range of program and communications support for the Intramural Research Program (IRP).

Aneka Reid, Program Assistant

Aneka came to the Office of Fellowship Training in December of 2011. Prior to coming to the NIMH, she attended the University of Maryland-College Park, where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biochemistry. Aneka has a fondness for the science field but also has an interest in science administration, which was her primary reason for joining the NIMH Intramural Program. She provides a broad range of services to the office which include coordination of career and professional development workshops, contracts acquisition and resource support for the Intramural Research Program (IRP). In 2015, she received a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Mount Saint Mary’s University.
