Overview

This webinar  provided an overview of the structural competency framework. It discussed recent literature applying the framework in mental health care and reflection on how the framework might extend to mental health care research.

Structural competency is a new educational framework for training health professionals to recognize and respond to disease and its unequal distribution as the outcome of social structures, such as laws, policies, institutions, and systems.
