Section on the Neural Circuits of Emotion and Motivation

What we do

The mission of the Unit on Neurobiology of Affective Memory, led by Mario A. Penzo, Ph.D., is to identify the neural circuit mechanisms underlying mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression. To fulfill this mission, our laboratory implements a multidisciplinary approach that includes behavioral assays, as well as cutting edge technologies for monitoring and manipulating the activity of defined neuronal populations.

Join the Lab

We have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow. Candidates with experience in in vivo calcium imaging (multiphoton and/or miniaturized microscopes), electrophysiology (in vivo and/or ex vivo) and rodent behavior will be given priority. If you are interested in joining the laboratory of Dr. Mario Penzo, please submit a statement of research interest and curriculum vitae today!
