Core Director for the SSCC

Paul has been a staff scientist in the SSCC since 2015, and has been Core Director since 2023. He works on many of the diffusion weighted imaging tools in AFNI, as well as on the FMRI and general processing ones. He also likes data visualization and quality control (QC).

Gang Chen

Gang is a staff scientist, having joined the Core in March 2003 as a Mathematical Statistician. He consults on any statistics-related issues in data processing, and he keeps developing new statistical tools in AFNI.

Daniel Glen

Daniel started in November 2004 as a Computer Engineer. He works mostly on issues related to atlases, templates and alignment. He also develops new visualization methods.

Peter joined the Core in 2020 as a software development contractor. He works primarily on maintaining and adding to the SUMA software part of AFNI, as well as having other algorithmic interests.

Justin K. Rajendra

Justin joined in 2017 as a software development contractor after more than a decade of clinical research in various neuroscience related fields (depression, post-stroke rehabilitation, mindfulness, chronic fatigue). Modalities of interest included fMRI, PET, fNIRS, TMS, EMG, EEG, motion capture, and clinical performance measures.

Yamuna Narayana Swamy

Yamuna joined the AFNI group in 2020 as a postdoctoral fellow, and currently she is working on implementing deep learning methods on MRI image analysis.

Richard Reynolds

Rick started in Dec 2001 as a Computer Scientist in the Core. He works on the core AFNI infrastructure, the FMRI processing pipeline tools, realtime AFNI functionality, maintaining the NIFTI toolbox, and more.

Robert W. Cox

Bob is a Special Volunteer with the SSCC. He is particularly special because he started AFNI and was Core Director from 2001-2021. His interests include algorithms, optimization, data visualization, processing, alignment and more.
