BSC Member - Margaret M. McCarthy, Ph.D.
Margaret (Peg) McCarthy, Ph.D. obtained her Ph.D. from the Institute of Animal Behavior at Rutgers University, received postdoctoral training at Rockefeller University and was a National Research Council Fellow at NIAAA before joining the faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1993. She is current President of the Organization for the Study of Sex Differences, Associate Editor of Hormones and Behavior and on the Advisory Board of eNeuro. Her research focuses on the cell and molecular origins of sex differences in the brain and how these contribute to vulnerability to neuropsychiatric disorders.
