This research study seeks to compare persons without an HIV infection to those with the infection to understand how the infection may contribute to dementia and depression.
This study is enrolling adults ages 40 years and older, who speak English fluently, are HIV negative and free of certain medical conditions (call to find out). Participation may include annual visits, cognitive evaluations, medical history, physical exam, blood work, brain scans, and spinal taps.
The study is conducted at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. There is no cost to participate. Compensation is provided. Transportation may be provided. Health insurance is not required to participate.
