Fahad Mukhtar, MD

Fahad Mukhtar, MD - Clinical Fellow

Dr. Fahad Mukhtar is a graduate of Bayero University of Kano, Nigeria where he received a MBBS degree of Medicine and Surgery in 2011. He spent over a year working as a house officer and then medical officer in Nigeria before he enrolled in an MPH program at the Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas followed by a PhD program in Epidemiology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. He was employed as a psychiatry resident starting in 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington, DC. Dr. Mukhtar was involved in several studies during his residency and graduate studies. His research identified risk factors such as the relationship of sleep-apnea and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as health disparities in survival of patients with lymphoma and leukemia. At NNU, Dr. Mukhtar is involved in different research protocols with the aim of improving the safety and efficacy of TMS/ECT.
